Kohala Hospital is in the midst of ongoing major renovations to our facility. Not only is the hospital looking better, but the renovations and upgrades enable us to deliver improved and more efficient healthcare to our patients, residents and community.
Kohala Hospital renovation projects include:
- New flooring
- Wall coverings
- Way-finding signs
- New windows
- Waiting area for Clinical Labs
- State-of-the-art, digital radiology equipment
- New nurses’ station
- New emergency access ramp
- Hospital-wide bathroom renovations
- Patient rooms wainscoting and closet installations
- Hardware wiring and Wi-Fi installation
- Emergency department renovation/relocation
Facility-wide renovations can be challenging. Our sincere thanks to everyone, especially our residents and their families, for so graciously working with us to accommodate the renovations. Thanks also to our great building maintenance team, our staff, Foundation and Auxiliary.
Our present building is over 50 years old and many projects require our attention. Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funding has provided monies for numerous projects. However, CIP funds are restricted to maintenance and facility improvement, and cannot be used for day to day hospital operations. The remaining projects and the purchase of new equipment are paid for by the tireless fund raising efforts of the Kohala Charitable Foundation and the North Kohala Community Resource Center.
We extend our gratitude to our State legislative team, the Kohala Hospital Charitable Foundation, the North Kohala Community Resource Center and our community for their continued support of our hospital.
