Visitor Guide

VISITING PATIENTS/RESIDENTS

  • Our hospital is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Our visitation policies are meant to support a healing and nurturing environment for our patients. We know how important family is to the well-being of our patients and we will try to accommodate our patients’ individual needs. The hospital reserves the right to limit visitation in certain situations, if it is considered to be in the best interest of residents/patients, visitors and staff.
  • We do not have set visiting hours. However, as a general guideline, based on the delivery of care, the best times to visit residents/patients are between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
  • If you are bringing food or other gifts for a resident/patient, please stop at the nurses’ station before delivering your gift. Some residents are on special diets or have eating difficulties and it is important to know what you are bringing.

COURTESY GUIDELINES

  • In the Emergency Department, visitors are limited to one (1) at a time with the exception of pediatric patients who are limited to two (2).
  • Please wash your hands when you enter and before you leave the room. Do not visit if you are sick or not feeling well. This will help protect our patients from infection or contracting other illnesses. If you must visit when you are ill, please ask nursing staff for a mask.
  • Please knock on the patient’s door and announce before entering the room (even if the door is open); it gives the patient a moment to prepare for your company. It will also alert the patient in the next bed if the room is not private.
